Indian Trail Project
Modern Classic Design
The Indian Trail Project was one of those where you get totally immersed in the surroundings, the house and the design. The home is settled on a few acres of property in a secluded area of Afton and will be the homeowner's forever home. Knowing that they wanted this to be a sanctuary we were able to choose classic yet modern materials and furnishings to give the space the sense of calm it deserves. The main living areas and master bath ooze modern traditional, but you can still see where we took some chances in the laundry room and daughters' bedrooms.
Solid Materials
Marble and other unique tiles ground the bathroom, entry and laundry room floors as well as create a unique accent on the fireplace, and back splashes. Hardwood floors and wood counter top accents add warmth in the bright kitchen, powder room and butler's pantry. Textiles throughout were chosen for comfort and durability including the "life-proof" custom sectional in the living room. We were able to create a solid base with these high-end materials and layer in some more affordable pieces, like the porch chairs from - dare I say it - Target.
The Right Amount of Color
The overall look of this home is calm, cool and collected and a base of white materials we were able to incorporate the right amount of color in each space to add the pop needed. It is important to remember that in Minnesota the color outside our windows is white for half the year, so it's necessary break it up and add warmth inside to help combat those mid-winter blues.
Enough talking, let's see the pictures already!
